This guide contains a sampling of smartphones and Pocket PC phones based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded software platforms. Note that this list is not meant to be all-inclusive; many of the manufacturers represented here offer additional models covering a spectrum of features and specs. O2 XDA Flint -- Dec. 10, 2008 -- O2's unusual Windows Mobile 6.1 phone features a 5-inch VGA display and a detachable QWERTY keyboard. The XDA Flint has 16GB of flash storage, GGSM/GPRS/EDGE telephony, WiFi, Bluetooth, dual cameras, video output, and an ATI graphics chip.


O2 XDA Zest -- Dec. 3, 2008 -- O2 offers this Windows Mobile 6.1 phone said to have been made exclusively for the British carrier by Asus. The "XDA Zest" includes a 624MHz Marvell "Tavor" processor, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, dual cameras, and a 2.8-inch display with VGA resolution.


RoverPC G7 -- Dec. 2, 2008 -- Russian company RoverPC offers a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone that reportedly works with the country's GLONASS (global navigation satellite system). The "G7" includes a VGA-resolution touchscreen display, an FM receiver, accelerometer, dual cameras, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 624MHz processor.


TechFaith Wireless i6-Win and i6-Goal -- Dec. 1, 2008 -- Chinese firms TechFaith Wireless and Qigi Future Technology offer the same smartphone in both Windows Mobile 6.1 and Google Android versions. Known as the i6-Win and i6-Goal, respectively, the devices reportedly include 2.8-inch touchscreens, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, GPS, and two megapixel cameras.


NTT DoCoMo HTC-HT-01A -- Dec. 1, 2008 -- The HTC-HT-01A is a version of the HTC Touch Pro. The device sports a 2.8-inch VGA-resolution touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, TV output, 3.2 megapixel camera, optional GPS, FM radio, and 4GB of storage.


Medical Phone Ltd. Icephone -- Nov. 20, 2008 -- Scottish firm Medical Phone Ltd. offers an unusual Windows Mobile phone that unfolds into three sections. Sporting a touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, and secondary keypad for gaming, the "Icephone" has quad-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and a 3.1 megapixel camera.


Samsung Saga -- Nov. 19, 2008 -- Verizon's Windows Mobile 6.1 phone offers a touchscreen, a QWERTY keyboard, and an "optical mouse" navigation button. The Samsung Saga has a 2.5-inch display, quad-band GSM and dual-band CDMA connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a two megapixel camera.


LG Incite -- Nov. 18, 2008 -- LG Electronics's first-ever smartphone for the U.S. market is available exclusively through AT&T. The "Incite" runs Windows Mobile 6.1, and offers "haptic" vibratory feedback for its 400 x 200 touchscreen interface.


Asus P565 -- Nov. 17, 2008 -- Upon its release, Asus claimed this Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone to be the world's fastest. The P565 features an 800MHz Marvell Tavor processor, a 2.8-inch touchscreen with VGA resolution, GPS, HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a custom "Glide" user interface.


Pharos Science Traveler 117 and Traveler 127 -- Nov. 14, 2008 -- GPS specialist Pharos Science offers two smartphones based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. The Traveler 117 and Traveler 127 are unlocked quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM devices, with GPS capabilities including voice prompts, maps on demand, and realtime traffic information.


HTC MAX 4G -- Nov. 13, 2008 -- HTC and Russian carrier Yota billed this Windows Mobile phone as "the world's first integrated GSM/WiMAX handset." The HTC MAX 4G includes a 3.8-inch 800 x 480 display, tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM, WiMAX, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a five megapixel camera.


AT&T HTC Fuze -- Nov 11, 2008 -- AT&T's HTC-manufactured phone, similar to the previously released Touch Pro, includes a 2.8-inch VGA-resolution touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The "Fuze" includes the "TouchFLO 3D" user interface, Windows Mobile 6.1, dual cameras, GPS, 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth.


Samsung T*Omnia -- Nov. 3, 2008 -- Samsung's Windows Mobile 6.1 phone includes a touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The T*Omnia has 8GB or 16GB of flash storage, a five megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, and a DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) TV receiver.


Elef Touche -- Oct. 23, 2008 -- Brazilian carrier Elef offers a compact phone based on the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The "Touche" includes a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 416MHz PXA270 processor, two megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, MicroSD slot, and a GPS system with map data for Brazil.


HP IPAQ Voice Messenger and IPAQ Data Messenger -- Oct. 22, 2008 -- HP's IPAQ Voice Messenger and IPAQ Data Messenger feature optical touch sensors, 320 x 240 displays, GPS, 802.11b/g wireless networking, Bluetooth, 3.1 megapixel cameras, and microSD expansion slots.


Samsung Epix -- Oct. 21, 2008 -- AT&T offers this Windows Mobile 6.1 phone with both a touchscreen and a built-in "optical mouse." An Americanized version of Samsung's SGH-i780, the Epix also includes a 2.5-inch display, QWERTY keyboard, GPS, WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, a two megapixel camera, and a microSD expansion slot.


O2 XDA Mantle -- Oct. 14, 2008 -- British carrier O2 offers this Windows Mobile 6.0 phone with a built-in fingerprint sensor, based on HTC's PC6500 design. The "XDA Mantle" includes GPS, HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) telephony, WiFi, dual SD slots, and a three megapixel camera.


HTC T8290 -- Oct. 10, 2008 -- HTC's T8290 is a WiMAX-enabled phone that also includes a 3.8-inch 800 x 480 display, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and GSM. It was officially unconfirmed as of our first report, but apparently planned for rollout on Russia's Yota WiMAX network.


Motorola Moto Q 11 -- Oct. 9, 2008 -- Motorola added to its "Q" series of mobile phones with this device using Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. The Moto Q 11 includes a 2.4-inch display, QWERTY keyboard, three megapixel camera, 802.11b/g wireless networking, and GPS.


Gigabyte MW702 and MS802 -- Oct. 2, 2008 -- These two mobile phones run Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and feature a proprietary "Smart Touch II" interface. The GSmart MW702 and MS802 have 2.8-inch touchscreen displays, quad-band GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM receivers, and GPS.


Velocity Mobile Velocity 83 -- Sep. 19, 2008 -- Velocity Mobile's Velocity 83 provides enhanced GPS capabilities. The Velocity 83 has two microSD slots, with one dedicated to map storage, and it includes a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM support, WiFi, and an enhanced "Odyssey" user interface.


HTC Touch 3G and Touch Viva -- Sep. 17, 2008 -- HTC's Touch 3G and Touch Viva have 2.8-inch touchscreen displays with 320 x 240 resolution, four way navigation controls, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity.


HTC Touch HD -- Sep. 15, 2008 -- HTC's Touch HD features Windows Mobile 6.1, a 3.8-inch touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution, a five megapixel camera, WiFi, an FM receiver, and the signature "TouchFLO 3D" user interface.


HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro (Sprint) -- Sep. 10, 2008 -- Sprint offers HTC's premier Windows Mobile phones, revised to use the carrier's CDMA network and EV-DO Rev. A connectivity. The Touch Diamond and Touch Pro include HTC's TouchFlo 3D user interface, 2.8-inch displays with VGA resolution, 3.2 megapixel cameras, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth.


E-ten Glofiish V900 -- Sep. 08, 2008 -- E-ten's Glofiish V900 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 based phone that includes an FM tuner, transmitter, and TV receiver. The device also has a VGA-resolution screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and support for an external monitor.


Asus P552w -- Sep 08, 2008 -- Asus' P552w runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and a custom "Glide" user interface. The phone features GPS, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a 624MHz Marvell "Tavor" processor, HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) connectivity, WiFi, and Bluetooth.


HTC S740 -- Aug. 26, 2008 -- HTC's candybar-style "S740" runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, sports a 3.2 megapixel camera, and includes GPS, WiFi, plus an FM radio.


Palm Treo Pro -- Aug. 20, 2008 -- Palm's new Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone will be available only in unlocked, unsubsidized form in the U.S. The Treo Pro includes quad-band GSM connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a two-megapixel camera.


Sky Link AnyDATA ASP-505 -- Aug. 12, 2008 -- Russian cellular carrier Sky Link offers this CDMA-based Windows Mobile 6.1 phone with EV-DO (evolution-data optimized) Rev. A data rates. Sky Link's AnyDATA ASP-505 operates on 450MHz and 800MHz bands, and also has Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS radios.


Samsung SGH-i688 -- Aug. 12, 2008 -- Samsung launched this Windows Mobile 6.0 phone supporting China's domestic 3G standard, TD-SCDMA (time-division synchronous code-division multiple access) at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The SGH-i688 availed users of a "Wireless Olympic Works" (WOW) network, said to offer real-time schedules, results, weather information, email, and instant messaging to Olympic officials.


Opticon Mobility Solutions H16 and H19 -- Aug 11, 2008 -- Opticon Mobility Solutions offers these two Windows Mobile-based phones with integrated 1D/2D barcode scanners. The H16 and H19 are compatible with the AT&T cellular network, offering 400MHz processors, miniSD expansion, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, WiFi, and Bluetooth.


T-Mobile MDA Compact IV -- Jul. 18, 2008 -- T-Mobile's Windows Mobile 6.1-based phoneprovides HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) and HSUPA (high-speed uplink packet access) data modes. The MDA Compact IV has a 2.8-inch VGA-resolution touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, FM radio, and 4GB of storage.


Palm Treo 800w -- Jul. 14, 2008 -- Palm's first U.S. Windows Mobile-powered Treo in more than a year offers a tactile QWERTY keyboard, a hardware WiFi switch, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, and Bluetooth support for stereo music headsets. Likely to appear in versions catering to other carrier networks, the device initially comes with dual-band CDMA for Sprint usage, supporting the carrier's EV-DO Revision A data service.


Mio Leap G50 -- Jul. 2, 2008 -- Featuring a black body ringed by a shiny bezel, the Leap G50 sports styling somewhat reminiscent of Apple's first-generation iPhone. It has quad-band GSM connectivity, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, two megapixel camera with LED flash and geotagging, and Bluetooth 2.0.


Spice D-1100 -- Jul. 1, 2008 -- The Spice D-100 is a Windows Mobile 6.0 phone that supports the use of two phone numbers or service providers. It has dual SIMs, a 2.8-inch 320 x 240 display, two megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, numeric keypad, and microSD memory expansion.


Benq E72 -- Jun 30, 2008 -- Benq's E72 is a low-cost Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard-based phone that comes with a multi-service instant messaging (IM) client. It includes quad-band GSM connectivity, a 2-inch 320 x 240 display, 802.11b/g wireless, Bluetooth 2.0, and a two megapixel camera.



Toshiba Portege G810 -- Jun. 25, 2008 -- Toshiba's Portege G810 features a customized version of Spb Software's Mobile Shell, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, dual cameras, and HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) connectivity. It uses the Qualcomm MSM7200 processor, clocked at 400MHz.


iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger -- Jun. 11, 2008 -- This Windows Mobile 6.1 phone with built-in GPS functionality and a voice-operated control interface. The iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger has a QWERTY keyboard and optional three megapixel camera, and can download data at up to 7.2Mbps via HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access).


SGH-i900 Omnia -- Jun. 9, 2008 -- This iPhone-like Windows Mobile 6.1 phone has a proprietary "TouchWiz" user interface. The SGH-i900 Omnia boasts a 3.2-inch widescreen QVGA display, 8GB or 16GB of storage, a 5-megapixel camera with electronic flash, GPS, WiFi, and an FM receiver.


Mio Leap K1 -- Jun . 9, 2008 -- Mio's dual-sided Leap K1 comes with a phone on one side, and a Windows CE 5.0-based PND (personal navigation device) on the other. Sporting both 2.7- and 1.7-inch screens, the phone offers tri-band GSM connectivity, two megapixel camera, and GPS.


HTC Touch Pro -- Jun. 4, 2008 -- HTC's Windows Mobile 6.1-based Touch Pro features the company's signature "TouchFLO 3D" user interface. It also sports a 2.8-inch VGA-resolution touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, TV output, 3.2 megapixel camera, optional GPS, FM radio, and 4GB of storage.


Wilcom 03 -- May 28, 2008 -- Wilcom's Windows Mobile 6.1-based 03 features an illuminated keypad that doubles as a directional controller. It has a 800 x 480 display, TV tuner, Bluetooth, WiFi, a two-megapixel camera, and a slide-out keyboard.


Asus P320 -- May 16, 2008 -- The compact P320 has a height of just 3.9 inches, but includes GPS. Also on board are a 2.6-inch display, two megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g wireless, and a variety of software add-ons.


Asus Lamborghini ZX1 -- May 12, 2008 -- Co-branded with the automaker Lamborghini, the ZX1 offers a carbon-fiber case, customizable "racing" user interface, nine-way directional controller, GPS, WiFi, and a bevy ofsoftware add-ons.


Samsung i200 -- May 8, 2008 -- Samsung's i200 is under half an inch thick, weighs 3.6 ounces, has a 2.3-inch QVGA screen, includes Bluetooth 2.0, and features a two-megapixel camera. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1.


Expon MP747-SM -- May 8, 2008 -- The MP747-SM has firmware that lets it boot into either Windows Mobile 6.0 or Linux. The phone weighs 3.2 ounces, and includes a 2.4-inch touchscreen display, 1.3 megapixel camera, 64MB of RAM, and quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity.


HTC Touch Diamond -- May 6, 2008 -- HTC's Touch Diamond features Windows Mobile 6.1 and a more finger-friendly version of the company's distinctive animated 3D "TouchFlow" user interface. The Touch Diamond also sports a diamond-faceted case, 2.8-inch VGA-resolution touchscreen, three-megapixel camera, GPS, FM radio, and 4GB of storage.


Gigabyte GSmart t600 -- May 5, 2008 -- This Windows Mobile 6 phone has a built-in digital TV receiver and 2.6-inch VGA (640 x 480) display. The GSmart t600 also boasts a two-megapixel camera with macro capabilities, four-band GSM connectivity, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0.


Asus M930 -- May 1, 2008 -- The Asus M930 Windows Mobile 6.1 and sports dual displays. It has a two-inch portrait mode QVGA external display, and hinges open to reveal a 2.6-inch WQVGA (400x240) landscape-mode internal display and hardware QWERTY keyboard.


Epoq EGP-WP98B -- Apr. 17, 2008 -- Epoq's EGP-WP98B includes a 1.8-inch OLED (organic light emitting diode) screen, quad-band GSM telephony, Bluetooth, WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and music and video playback capabilities.


E-ten's Glofiish M750/M810 -- Apr. 15, 2008 -- E-ten's Glofiish M750 and M810 are near-identical twins that run Windows Mobile 6.0 and include built-in GPS functionality. They have slide-out 33-key keyboards, 2.8-inch touchscreen displays, two megapixel autofocus cameras, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and Java, while the M810 adds a VGA-resolution camera for videoconferencing.


Samsung SCH-740 -- Apr. 7, 2008 -- Samsung's Windows Mobile 6.0-based SCH-740 supports HSUPA (high-speed uplink packet access). It can upload data at up to 2Mbps, and has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a two megapixel camera, plus WiFi and Bluetooth.


Gresso Steel -- Apr. 2, 2008 -- Gresso's "Sol Steel" and "Luna Steel" cost nearly $5,500 each, and feature cases made of 200-year-old African Blackwood, sapphire crystal glass, steel, and titanium. They run Windows Mobile 6.1 ndows Mobile 6.0 on an unspecified processor, with 64MB of RAM, 2GB of flash storage, and a QVGA screen.


HTC Touch Dual -- Apr. 2, 2008 -- HTC's Touch Dual runs Windows Mobile 6.1 along with HTC's TouchFLO user interface. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, dual cameras, plus GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) and HSDPA (850/1900Mhz) connectivity.


Velocity Mobile Velocity 103 and 111 -- Apr. 2, 2008 --The Velocity 103 and Velocity 111 output video to VGA displays and TVs, offer WiFi, Bluetooth, and include GPS. The Velocity 103 features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display with full VGA (640 x 480) resolution, while the Velocity 111 has a 2.5-inch display with QVGA (320 x 240) resolution and adds a QWERTY keyboard to the mix.


Motorola MOTO Q9c -- Mar. 31, 2008 -- Motorola's MOTO Q9c has a 2.4-inch screen, QWERTY keyboard, 1.3 megapixel camera, side-scroll thumbwheel for menu navigation, Bluetooth, and Pocket Internet Explorer. It uses a 312MHz Marvell PXA270 processor.


MWG Atom V -- Mar 28, 2008 -- MWG's Atom V has a 2-megapixel camera, 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 802.11b/g wireless networking, Bluetooth, and an FM radio. Including the SiRF starIII GPS chipset, it can tag photos with the latitude and longitude where they were taken.


General Dynamics Sectera Edge -- Mar. 24, 2008 -- The Sectera Edge meets National Security Agency (NSA) requirements for Top Secret voice information, and provides access to the SIPRNet (secret internet procotol router network). It includes a secondary LCD display that lets the user whether or not a "trusted" network is being employed.


Miu HDPC -- Mar. 24, 2008 -- Miu's proof-of-concept "HDPC" (hybrid dual portable computer) melds a palmtop PC powered by a 500MHz Via C7-M processor with a mobile phone powered by a 200MHz ARM9-based system-on-chip.


Emobile Emonster S11HT -- Mar. 18, 2008 -- Based on HTC's TyTn II design, the Emonster S11HT has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and tilting display, like that of a small laptop. It includes quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE WAN connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, and dual cameras.


MWG Ubiquio 503G -- Mar. 14, 2008 -- MWG's Ubiquio 503G is a Windows Mobile 6 Professional-based phone with a front-mounted QWERTY or AZERTY keyboard and a 2.4-inch touchscreen display. It has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity and tri-band WCDMA/UMTS, along with WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, and dual cameras.


Bluebird Soft Pidion BM-350 -- Mar 13, 2008 -- Bluebird Soft's Windows Mobile 6 Professional-based Pidion BM-350 has a GPS receiver, WiFi, Bluetooth, an FM radio, and supports both quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA telephony.


O2 Xda Atmos -- Mar. 12, 2008 -- O2's Xda Atmos has GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G HSDPA/UMTS cellular radios, along with dual cameras and a slide-out keyboard. It also includes WiFi wireless networking, Bluetooth, a 2.4-inch display, and video recording capabilities.


HTC Mogul (EV-DO Rev. A) -- Mar. 10, 2008 -- The revised HTC Mogul supports EV-DO Rev. A telephony, with data rates of 3.1Mbps downstream and 1.8Mbps upstream. It also boasts WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a 2MP camera, QVGA display, and the Windows Mobile operating system.


Gigabyte Gsmart MW998 -- Mar. 6, 2008 -- The Gsmart MS998 can not only record calls, but also is able to camouflage a user's location by simulating background noises. The phone offers quad-band GSM telephony, features WiFi and Bluetooth, and has a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display.


Softbank X03HT -- Mar. 6, 2008 -- The HTC-manufactured X03HT features 3G/HSDPA connectivity and a slide-out keyboard. It also includes WiFi wireless networking, Bluetooth, dual cameras, a 2.4-inch display, and "picture letter" capabilities.


General Mobile DSTW1 -- Feb. 27, 2008 -- General Mobile's Windows Mobile 6-based DSTW1 has dual SIM slots, Bluetooth, a two megapixel camera, and a 2.8-inch QVGA display. The dual SIMs allow the simultaneous use of two different numbers or carriers.


Samsung Ace -- Feb. 19, 2008 -- The Samsung Ace is a dual-mode CDMA/GSM Windows Mobile phone aimed at frequent international travelers. It features an unlocked SIM slot, QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1.2 megapixel camera, and a 2.3-inch display.


HTC P3470 -- Feb. 15, 2008 -- HTC's P3470 features quad-band GSM connectivity, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, GPS, and Bluetooth. It uses TI's OMAP850 processor, clocked at 201MHz, with 128MB of RAM and 256MB of flash storage.


Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 -- Feb. 11, 2008 -- The Xperia X1 features a 3-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolution, custom user interface, slideout QWERTY keyboard, an optical joystick, and FM and GPS receivers.


Asus P750 -- Feb. 7, 2008 -- The Asus P750 includes tri-band GSM (800/1800/1900MHz) telephony, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, and several interesting geo-location applications, including one that sends coordinates via SMS at intervals, or on demand. The phone runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional.


Zzzphone -- Feb. 6, 2008 -- The customizable Zzzphone is a tri-band device offering 800/850, 1800, and 1900MHz on versions shipped to the U.S., and 900, 1800, and 900MHz for European customers. The unlocked device features dual SIM slots and runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional.


O2 Xda Orbit II -- Feb. 5, 2008 --O2's HTC-manufactured Orbit II runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional on Qualcomm's MSM7200 processor. It includes dual cameras, GPS capabilities, WiFi, and a built-in FM radio.


Palm Treo 500 -- Jan. 29, 2008 -- The Treo 500 has a full QWERTY keyboard, two-megapixel camera, and microSD slot, resembling the company's earlier 500v except for its user-inteface. The SIM-unclocked Treo 500 supports tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), GPRS, and UMTS (2100) networks.

E-Ten Glofiish X600 -- Nov. 16, 2007 -- The slim Glofiish X600 includes built-in GPS and runs Windows Mobile 6. The palm-sized device also features quad-band GSM/EDGE and GPRS telephony, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0.


HTC Touch Cruise -- Nov. 12, 2007 -- HTC added GPS to its popular Touch product line with this device, which naturally also includes the company's TouchFLO user interface. i-mate Ultimate 9502 and 8502 -- Oct. 24, 2007 -- i-mate's 9502 and 8502 are sold in unlocked, bring-your-own-carrier format. HTC Touch (Sprint) -- Oct. 18, 2007 -- Sprint became the first U.S. carrier to offer its own version of the HTC Touch with this device, modified to work on the carrier's CDMA network. The device includes HTC's TouchFLO user interface, a 2.8-inch display, and a two megapixel camera.

Mio DigiWalker A702 -- Sep. 13, 2007 -- Mio's A702 includes Windows Mobile 6, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and photo geotagging capabilities. Based on a 200MHz TI OMAP 850 processor, it provides GSM quad-band (850, 900, 1800, 1900), GPRS, and EDGE wireless capabilities.


Palm Treo 500v -- Sep. 12, 2007 -- Palm targeted European and South African customers with this "low-cost" Treo, including Windows Mobile 6, a QWERTY keyboard, and a non-touchscreen 320 x 240 display. The Treo 500v also includes a custom program launcher created for Vodafone by Microsoft.


HP iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator -- Sep. 6, 2007 -- HP's iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator teams Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional with GPS, WiFI, plus quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band HSDPA cellular capabilities. The device has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, three megapixel camera, and a numeric keypad.


NTT DoCoMo HT1100 -- Sep. 5, 2007 -- The HTC-manufactured HT1100 uses the TouchFLO user interface that made its debut with the HTC Touch, but also includes a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It includes dual cameras and tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity.


HTC TyTn II -- Aug. 28, 2007 -- HTC's TyTn II features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and an adjustable keyboard angle that makes it resemble a miniature laptop. The Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional-based TyTn II includes GUPS, 3.5G HSDPA connectivity, and dual cameras.


HTC S630 -- Aug. 27, 2007 -- HTC's S630 -- also known as the HTC Cavalier or Dopod C730 -- includes quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM and tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) connectivity. It also includes WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a touchstrip on its side that is said to control volume and provide a variety of navigation functions.


Motorola Q music 9m -- Aug. 23, 2007 -- Motorola's Q music 9m is less than half an inch thick, runs Windows Mobile 6.0, and can switch to an "exclusive multimedia user interface" for accessing Verizon's V-CAST music service. It also includes Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel camera.


Thuraya SG-2520 -- Aug. 17, 2007 -- Thuraya's SG-2520 runs Windows CE 4.2, offering voice and data calling, on either terrestrial tri-band GSM networks, or Thuraya's Geo Mobile Packet Radio Service (GmPRS) satellite network. The phone also includes a SiRF starIII-based GPS receiver and a 1.3 megapixel camera.


Sophia Nani -- Jul. 23, 2007 -- Sophia's Nani combines personal media player (PMP) and cellphone functionality, though the latter is limited to the Personal Handyphone System (PHS) deployed by Japan's Willcom. Running a customized version of Windows CE, it includes a 4.3-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) touchscreen display and a digital TV tuner.



Toshiba Portege G900 and G500 -- Jul. 9, 2007 -- Toshiba's Portege G900 and G500, which were claimed to be among the first devices shipping with Windows Mobile 6.0, offer 520MHz Marvell PXA270 processors, fingerprint recognition, dual cameras, WiFi, and quad-band GSM telephony. The G900 (shown) has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 3-inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD display, while the G500 has a 2.3-inch QVGA screen.



i-mate Jama -- Jul. 6, 2007 -- The "entry-level" Jama includes 64MB of RAm and 128MB of flash storage, a 300MHz Samsung SC32442X processor, a 2.4-inch touchscreen display, and Bluetooth 1.2. Also found are proprietary i-mate utilities for configuration and for media management.


HTC P6300 -- Jul. 6, 2007 -- HTC targeted enterprise customers with this conservatively styled PDA/phone. The P6300 includes tri-band GSM/GPRS calling capabilities, WiFi, and Bluetooth.


Paragon Wireless hipi 2300 -- Jun. 19, 2007 -- Paragon Wireless' hipi 2300 is a Windows Mobile 5.0-based phone that includes both GSM/GPRS and WiFi connectivity. The device is said to provide seamless handover between standard GSM telephony and WiFi-based VoIP calling, and also includes a 1.9-megapixel camera and VPN support.


HTC Mogul (Sprint) -- Jun. 18, 2007 -- Designed for Sprint's CDMA network, the HTC Mogul features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0. Similar to the T-Mobile Wing, it also provides a two megapixel camera.


HTC Touch -- Jun. 6, 2007 -- HTC's Touch was the first device to use the company's self-developed "TouchFLO" touchscreen interface, designed for easy fingertip operation. The Touch includes a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, WiFi, and a two-megapixel camera. In this original incarnation, it featured tri-band (900, 1800, 1900MHz) connectivity.


T-Mobile Wing -- May 22, 2007 -- The HTC-manufactured T-Mobile Wing offers a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 2.8-inch VGA screen, quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) cellular communications, and a 200MHz TI OMAP 850 processor. It also features a two megapixel camera and a microSD slot for memory expansion.

Motorola Q 9 -- May 16, 2007 -- Motorola's Q 9 is a Windows Mobile 6.0-based device that supports HSDPA/UMTS wireless broadband downloads at up to 3.6Mbps. It includes a QVGA display, integrated QWERTY keyboard, two megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and Opera web browser.


Motorola MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant -- Mar. 27, 2007 -- Motorola's MC35 combines EDGE-enabled GSM/GPRS cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS wireless capabilities. The Windows Mobile 5.0-based device also offers a two megapixel digital camera and can read barcodes with either 1D or 2D symbologies.


E-ten Glofiish X800 -- Mar. 16, 2007 -- E-ten's Glofiish X800 T in Hannover, Germany this week. The Golfiish X800 supports 3.5G HSDPA/WCDMA connectivity, has a VGA-resolution display, and sports dual cameras. The Windows Mobile 6.0-based device also includes GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth radios.


SatconSystem F@rmphone -- Feb. 20, 2007 -- German firm SatconSystem created this device, a version of E-ten's Glofiish X500 that comes with added software intended to assist famers. Like the X500, the F@rmphone includes GPS, quad-band GSM/GPRS, 802.11b WiFi, and Bluetooth. It also has a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display and a two megapixel camera.


Neonode N2 -- Feb. 14, 2007 -- The Windows CE-based Neonode N2 measures just 3.0 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches, and includes both a proprietary "Neno" user interface and a patented optical touchscreen. It supports guad-band GSM telephony and employs Neonode's own ARM9-based MiMagic 6+ processor.


HP iPAQ 500 Series Voice Messenger -- Feb. 12, 2007 -- HP's Windows Mobile 6.0-based iPAQ 500 Series Voice Messenger has a 2-inch display with a resolution of 220 x 176 pixels. It includes WiFi, Bluetooth, hands-free voice operation, and over-the-air management capabilities.


Asus P735 -- Jan. 30, 2007 -- The Asus P735 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 520MHz Marvell processor, and boasts both dual cameras and business-card recognition software. Wireless connectivity includes 2100MHz UMTS, 900/1800/1900MHz GSM, Bluetooth 2.0, and 802.11b/g WiFi.


i-mate PDAL and JAQ3 -- Jan. 8, 2007 -- These two Windows Mobile 5 handsets share a common platform and many common features. They support quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, and Bluetooth wireless, and feature a 2 Mpixel, 4X digital zoom camera. The JAQ3 boasts a 39-key QWERTY keyboard along with a scroll wheel and several dedicated function buttons.


IzenMobile KRMA and KSMT -- Jan. 5, 2007 -- This pair of Windows Mobile PDA/phones come with a range of services that target the needs of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). They both feature quad-band GSM/GPRS, Wifi, and Bluetooth wireless along with a 2 Mpixel camera. The KSMT features a slide-out 39-key QWERTY keyboard.


Voxtel W740 -- Dec. 19, 2006 -- The W740 ups the ante on mobile phone camera resolution with a 4 Mpixel model. The tri-band GSM/GPRS Pocket PC phone is powered by a 200MHz TI OMAP 730 processor, and packs 64MB of RAM and 128MB of flash memory.


Gigabyte gSmart i120 -- Nov. 28, 2006 -- This tri-band GSM/GPRS device boasts an interesting proprietary application, "Wise Talk," that lets users create a "virtual background scenario" to simulate the background noise typical of environments such as a concert, a meeting room, or an airport. Like its predecessor, the gSmart, it includes an analog broadcast TV receiver that decodes PAL, NTSC, and SECAM, plus an FM radio receiver. The device can also record received video.


Samsung Blackjack -- Nov. 13, 2006 -- The "ultra-thin" Blackjack features a fully integrated QWERTY keyboard and access to Cingular's 3G-enabled BroadbandConnect service. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on an unspecified processor and boasts a 1.3 Mpixel camera and Bluetooth 2.0. Cingular makes several entertainment services available to Blackjack users.


i-mate Smartflip -- Jun. 28, 2006 -- The Smartflip is a clamshell-style smartphone that runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and supports Microsoft's direct push technology. It runs a TI OMAP 850 processor with 64MB each of RAM and Flash. The device is EDGE-enabled and boasts built-in Bluetooth.


HTC TyTN Pocket PC phone -- Jun. 16, 2006 -- This combination PDA and 3G mobile phone emphasizes worldwide connectivity, via Tri-Band UMTS, Quad-Band EDGE, Bluetooth, and WiFi. The device sports a slide-out, ergonomic QWERTY keyboard and a 2 Mpixel camera. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 400MHz Samsung "stacked" CPU with 64MB fo RAM and 128MB of flash.


HTC MteoR Smartphone -- Jun. 16, 2006 -- The MteoR runs Windows Mobile 5 on a dual processor platform that includes a Samsung application processor and a Qualcomm baseband processor. O2 XDA IQ -- Jun. 13, 2006 -- This Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone, based on HTC's Tornado platform, comes with direct push technology preinstalled. The quad-band GSM device features built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, a 1.3 Mpixel camera, and a mini SD slot.


Asus P525 Pocket PC Phone -- May. 31, 2006 -- The P525, running Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC edition, can scan business cards with its 2 Mpixel camera and automatically transfer the information to an Outlook contact entry. It also comes with Skype for Pocket PC pre-installed, including Skype-in and Skype-out functions. The device uses a 416MHz Xscale processor with 64MB of SDRAM and 128MB of Flash.


Dopod StrTrk S300 -- May. 19, 2006 -- Apparently aimed at Trekkies, the world's "slimmest and lightest deluxe clamshell smartphone" weighs in at 99 grams and is just over a half inch thick. The StrTrk S300 runs Windows Mobile 5 and features a "3D-animated interface" and three-by-three grid arrangement of icons that offers one-click access to commonly used functions.


Palm Treo 700w -- Jan. 4, 2006 -- Palm's first Windows Mobile PDA/phone is based on a 312MHz Intel XScale processor and runs Windows Mobile 5.0. It features a 240 x 240 pixel color display (smaller than that of the earlier Treo 650), a QWERTY keypad, Bluetooth wireless, a 1.3 Mpixel digital camera, an SD/MMC/SDIO expansion card slot, and an extensive suite of software.


Gigabyte gSmart -- Dec. 19, 2005 -- The gSmart Pocket PC Phone receives both PAL and NTSC analog television as well as broadcast FM radio. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC Phone Edition on a PXA272 processor and also boasts a 2.1 Mpixel camera, WiFi, and Bluetooth.


Sharp W-Zero3 PocketPC Phone -- Dec. 1, 2005 -- Said to be the first Japanese Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone, the W-Zero3 features a full VGA display, a slideout QWERTY keyboard, and a 1.3 Mpixel camera. Built-in wireless connectivity includes 802.11b and "PHS" (Personal Handyphone System), a relatively short-range wireless "microcell" system used primarily in Japan.

UTStarcom PPC 6700 -- Sep. 16, 2005 -- The PPC-6700 is based on HTC's Apache reference platform. It's powered by a 416MHz Intel XScale PXA270 embedded processor and comes with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of Flash memory. It features a unique, sliding QWERTY keyboard that opens from the side and automatically changes orientation from portrait to landscape viewing mode. The device, sold by Sprint, also boasts a 1.3 Mpixel camera with built-in flash, digital zoom, and camcorder functionality.


i-mate JasJar -- Aug. 31, 2005 -- i-mate claims the JasJar is the "world's first 3G-enabled GSM/GPRS phone to run Windows Mobile 5.0." It's the HTC Universal platform running a 520MHz Intel Bulverde (PXA27x) processor with 64MB of SDRAM and 128MB of Flash. It features dual cameras with built-in flash, and dual speakers for stereo sound.


Motorola Q -- Jul. 26, 2005 -- Motorola calls the Q "the thinnest, lightest, coolest QWERTY [mobile phone] on the planet." The Q integrates a QWERTY keyboard and 1.3 megapixel camera into a compact and thin smartphone running Windows Mobile 5.0. At slightly less than a half inch, the Q is 50 percent thinner than its top competitors, according to Mot.


Orange SPV C550 smartphone -- Jul. 15, 2005 -- Orange calls the SPV C550 the "Great for Music" handset, adding that it provides "the first realistic alternative to carrying around a separate MP3 player, phone and PDA." The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition on an Intel XScale processor with 64MB of memory. Befitting a music-oriented device, it has dedicated play, rewind, and fast-forward keys on the front panel.


Samsung SCH-i730 Pocket PC phone -- Jun. 23, 2005 -- This is Samsung's first PDA phone with support for the EV-DO protocol and built-in WiFi capabilities, and its first with a miniature QWERTY keyboard. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PCs on a 520MHz Intel PXA272 microprocessor with 128MB of flash memory and 64MB of DRAM. Other features include support for "certain Bluetooth profiles," BlackBerry email support, "advanced" voice recognition, MP3 player, 3D audio equalizer, and 3D stereo speakers.


HP iPAQ hw6515 -- Jun. 17, 2005 -- Dubbed the Mobile Media Companion, the hw6515 is seen as Hewlett-Packard's answer to the PalmOne Treo 650. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Phone Edition on at 312MHz Intel PXA270 processor with 64MB of RAM and 64MB of Flash. The device combines a TFT touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE communications, GPS, 1280x1024 camera, SD and MiniSD card slots, and both Bluetooth and IrDA.


Samsung SGH-i300
-- Mar. 15, 2005 -- With a built-in 3 GB hard disk drive, Samsung characterizes the Windows Mobile-based SGH-i300 as an "embedded music smartphone". It can store up to 1,000 music files and supports 3D-sound through its stereo speakers. he device sports a QVGA (320x240 pixel) display, and also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera.


Microsoft/Flextronics "Peabody" -- Feb. 14, 2005 -- Microsoft and Flextronics jointly developed this Windows Mobile-based smartphone "platform" to be customized and resold by OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and service providers under their respective brands. "Peabody" is described as a low-cost, feature-rich design based on a TI OMAP730 GSM/GPRS processor with 32MB of RAM and 64MB of Flash.


UTStarcom XV6600 -- Dec. 16, 2004 -- The XV6600, which boasts a QWERTY keypad, is a combo phone/PDA running Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Phone edition being sold into the US market by Verizon Wireless. It is marketed by UTStarcom Personal Communications, which recently acquired some of the wireless assets of Audiovox Communications.


i-mate JAM -- Nov. 11, 2004 -- i-mate characterizes the JAM as five devices in one -- a mobile phone, Pocket PC, digital camera / video recorder, gaming console, and MP3 player. The tri-band wireless device runs Windows Mobile Second Edition for Pocket PC on a 416MHz Intel PXA270 (Bulverde) processor and boasts a 1.3 megapixel camera.


Audiovox PPC-6601 -- Oct. 25, 2004 -- This dual-band (1900/800MHz CDMA) Pocket PC Phone boasts 128MB of RAM and 64MB of flash memory, a 240x320 65K-color TFT touch-screen display that switches between portrait and landscape modes, QWERTY keyboard, SDIO expansion, and Bluetooth. It's being offered in the U.S. through Sprint Wireless.


Audiovox SMT5600 -- Oct. 12, 2004 -- The SMT5600 is claimed to be the smallest Windows Mobile smartphone in North America, measuring 4.25 x 1.81 x 0.63 inches. It is also said to be the first smartphone in the US to include an integrated VGA camera, and the first anywhere to include Windows Media Player 10 Mobile.


Orange myS-7 smartphone -- Sep. 2, 2004 -- The myS-7 features the so-called "candy bar" style design and boasts dual polyphonic speakers and a 176x220 pixel, 65K color TFT display. It runs Windows Mobile 2003, plays Windows Media audio and video files and MP3 music, and supports seamless over-the-air synchronization of email, calender, and contacts with Microsoft Exchange Server.


Yakumo PDA omikron BT -- Aug. 26, 2004 -- This combination Pocket PC and tri-band mobile phone is an enhanced version of the company's earlier "PDA omikron", with the addition of Bluetooth functionality. The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PCs Phone Edition on a 200MHz Samsung 2410 ARM 9 Processor and sports a built-in camera.


O2 Xphone -- Aug. 23, 2004 -- runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone operating system on a 132MHz TI OMAP processor. Currently available in selected Asian countries, the device offers GSM/GPRS communications and boasts a built-in VGA (640x480) resolution camera, an MMC/SDIO expansion card slot, and support for MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) text/multimedia messaging.


Motorola MPx220 -- Jul. 27, 2004 -- Motorola calls this the "ultimate mobile email device." The MPx220, running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, is said to include an integrated 1.23 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology, and quad-band wireless performance.


Motorola CN620 "MOD" -- Jul. 27, 2004 -- As part of its "Enterprise Seamless Mobility" initiative, Motorola has introduced the CN620 Mobile Office Device ("MOD") that runs Windows CE 4.2 and supports both GSM/GPRS and 802.11a communications. The device can seemlessly switch between WLAN and cellular modes when the user walks from inside to outside of a building, Motorola says.


HP iPAQ h6300 -- Jul. 26, 2004 -- this converged data/voice device series features a 3.5-in. TFT color LCD and is powered by Texas Instruments OMAP 1510 processor running Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC, Phone Edition. Communications support includes GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, 802.11b, and IrDA, and offers MMC/SDIO card expansion. The device also boasts stereo MP3-capable audio, and an optional integrated 640x480 pixel camera.


Orange SPV C500 smartphone -- Jun. 18, 2004 -- Orange claims this as the "world's smallest Smartphone," measuring just 4.25 x 1.8 x .63 inches (108 x 46 x 16 mm), and weighing in at a mere 3.5 oz. (100 gm). The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition on an unspecified processor. The SPV C500 comes with the Orange "Try" card �- a mini memory card that can be inserted into the phone allowing users to sample new applications for free and then purchase them directly through Orange.


Asus P505 Pocket PC Phone -- Jun. 9, 2004 -- This device won a "Best Choice of Computex Taipei" award at Computex 2004 in Taiwan. The P505 runs Windows Mobile softare and is reportedly powered by a 520MHz Intel XScale processor. It offers GSM/GPRS communications, Bluetooth wireless, a built-in 1.2 megapixel camera, and an MMC / SD Card expansion slot.


E-ten P300B Pocket PC Phone -- May. 28, 2004 -- combines tri-band GSM/GPRS and Bluetooth wireless communications capabilities along with a complete set of PDA features. The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC Phone Edition software on a 200MHz Samsung processor, and features SD Card expansion.


Audiovox PPC 4100 -- May. 24, 2004 -- This tri-band (850/1800/1900 MHZ) GSM/GPRS Pocket PC phone combines the capabilities of a PDA with integrated wireless voice and data. The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PCs on a 400MHz Intel XScale processor. A built-in SD/MMC expansion slot enables file storage on removable Flash media.


Motorola MPx and Mpx100 -- Feb. 23, 2004 -- both of these devices are part of Motorola's MOTOPro mobile handset family, which targets "mobile professionals." The dual-hinge clamshell MPx boasts a full QWERTY keyboard, GSM/GPRS communications, and "continuous connectivity" via both Wi-Fi (802.11b) and Bluetooth wireless. The MPx100 is a tri-band GSM/GPRS handset with built-in Bluetooth wireless and optional Wi-Fi. Both have built-in 1.3 megapixel cameras.


Mitac Mio 8390 -- Feb. 19, 2004 -- Integrating Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 operating system, the Mio 8390 offers all the features of a state-of-the-art mobile phone -- including color screen, digital camera, video recording capability, 40-polyphony ring tones, and engaging games -- along with "smartphone" functions such as Internet, email, WAP, MMS, and MSN Messenger, plus games, media players, and more.


Audiovox PPC 5050 -- Jan. 7, 2004 -- Audiovox unveiled its newest Pocket PC based wireless phone at CES in Jan. 2004. The PPC 5050 combines the functions of a Pocket PC with those of a dual-band CDMA/PCS wireless phone, and is equipped with an Intel 400MHz Processor running Windows Mobile Phone Edition 2003.


GSMK Cryptophone -- Nov. 19, 2003 -- Worried about people listening in on your cell phone calls? GSMK (Berlin, Germany) says you no longer need to worry, provided you and whoever you're talking to are using a pair of the company's new CryptoPhone GSM mobile phones. The company claims to have created secure cell phone transmissions on a Pocket PC based GSM mobile phone using a 4096-bit Diffie-Hellman key exchange with SHA256 hash function.


Samsung SCH-i600 -- Nov. 10, 2003 -- the SCH-i600 is Samsung's first mobile phone to be based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile software, and the second Windows Mobile based smartphone to hit the US market. The clamshell-style device combines phone and PDA features, and offers a bright, full-color display and an SDIO expansion slot.


Orange SPV E200 smartphone -- Oct. 13, 2003 -- Orange lays claim to being the first provider to launch a mobile handset based on Microsoft's Smartphone software. The E200 is based on a TI OMAP ARM processor. A built-in expansion slot supports SD/MMC/SDIO cards, and the device also features integrated camera, modem, Bluetooth, and multimedia capabilities (including MP3 player).


Sierra Wireless Voq Phone -- Oct. 8, 2003 -- The Voq smartphone, based on Microsoft Windows Mobile software for Smartphones, combines high-end mobile phone capabilities with PDA functionality, according to Sierra Wireless. It features a normal 12-key phone-type keypad along with a unique, flip-open QWERTY thumb-pad.


Motorola MPx200 -- Sep. 15, 2003 -- based on Windows Mobile for Smartphones, the MPx200 features a clamshell design, GSM 1800/1900MHz GPRS band coverage, and an SD card memory expansion slot. The device is now being sold in North America through AT&T Wireless.


Gotive H41 mobile communicator -- May. 8, 2003 -- is a wireless handheld for indoor/outdoor retail and remote data collection applications. The CE .NET based device combines the functions of mobile phone, handheld computer, barcode reader, and GPS into one small unit that boasts an oversized display and a "finger-operable" QWERTY keyboard.


Neonode N1 "limitless" mobile device -- Apr. 30, 2003 -- is a mobile phone, personal organizer, digital camera, multimedia jukebox, gaming device and remote control combined in a single mobile device with "limitless" features. It is powered by Microsoft Windows CE .NET.


Carrier Devices i-Mate Smartphone -- Apr. 30, 2003 -- is a Tri-band (900, 1800 and 1900) phone based on Microsoft's Smartphone platform. The phone has a 2.2-inch full-color TFT LCD and offers support for seven languages. A built-in expansion slot supports SD card/MMC Cards. The device also supports multimedia with stereo sound.


Texas Instruments WANDA reference design -- Mar. 19, 2003 -- Targeting smart phones and mobile devices that combine GSM, GPRS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, WANDA -- "Wireless Any Network Digital Assistant" -- combines TI's OMAP processor and wireless interface technologies with Microsoft's Pocket PC operating system. The device features dual band operating on the GSM 900 / 1800. Built-in expansion slot is an SD card/MMC Cards. The device also supports multimedia files and features an integrated camera.


Mitac Mio 8380 -- Mar. 3, 2003 -- The Mio 8380 is based on Microsoft's Smartphone 2002 platform, and is compatible with GPRS cell networks at 900, 1800, and 1900MHz cellular networks. It�s also got MMS multimedia messaging and heavy PDA functionality. A 110-kilopixel camera with digital zoom and onboard MPEG-4 encoder/decoder can handle digital video and other multimedia such as mp3 playback.


Hitachi Pocket PC phone -- Jan. 6, 2003 -- The Multimedia Communicator is equipped with Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone edition and the ususal collection of productivity applications. It sporta a full-color TFT screen, integrated camera, and a QWERTY keyboard.


Anextek SP230 -- Jan. 6, 2003 -- Anextek recently announced a tri-band GSM phone running Windows Pocket PC Phone 2003. The SP230 is powered by a 400MHz Intel PXA255 processor and sports a wide range of features that make it useful as a personal messaging and multimedia center.


Siemens/AT&T Wireless SX56 PocketPC Phone Edition -- Oct. 8, 2002 -- The SX56 Windows-powered Pocket PC Phone is a pocket PC/mobile phone for the US market that is being sold through AT&T Wireless. It is based on the Intel StrongARM 206MHz processor with expansion via an SD/MMC slot.


O2 XDA -- Jun. 29, 2002 -- combines PDA and cell phone in one compact handheld and runs on Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 phone edition. O2 uses the "Wallaby" reference design from Taiwanese-based HTC on an Intel StrongARM processor. Dual-band GSM and GPRS are integrated in the device for mobile connectivity.


T-Mobile MDA -- Jun. 29, 2002 -- The MDA is based on the "Wallaby" reference design from Taiwan's HTC corporation using an Intel StrongARM processor, and runs Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone Edition. Expansion options include IrDA and an integrated SD/MMCard slot. T-Mobile MDA supports 900/1900MHz version in the U.S. and GSM 900/1800 Mhz networks in Europe.


Audiovox Thera -- Mar. 18, 2002 -- Thera' is a Greek word meaning 'opening or gateway' and this device ushers in a new class of mobile communications devices and computing. The Thera provides fully-integrated CDMA2000 1X wireless voice (supporting dual-band CDMA, 800MHz and 1900MHz) and data communications capabilities in a single, compact, Pocket PC device with a 5-inch color TFT screen.
