 Fujitsu Computer Systems has added a new slate-style tablet PC to its Stylistic series, featuring a 1.1 GHz processor and an impressive array of security capabilities. The Stylistic ST5020 Tablet PC runs Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and boasts battery operation of up to nine hours, a wide viewing angle, sharper graphics imaging and improved sound capabilities relative to previous models, and optional integrated wireless connectivity.

The ST5020 includes a built-in biometric fingerprint "swipe sensor" that eliminates the need to manage multiple passwords for network access, email accounts, or other protected systems. Additionally, a dedicated SmartCard slot can be used to verify identification or make secure online transactions.
Another significant security feature of the ST5020 is support for the "Trusted Platform Module" (TPM), an embedded security system developed by the Trusted Computing Group to protect sensitive data from unauthorized users and enable secure authentication. A number of chip vendors have announced products and support for TPM, including Infineon, STMicroelectronics, Intel, and Atmel.
The ST5020 is powered by a 1.1 GHz Intel Pentium M Processor ULV 733, which minimizes heat generation and prolongs battery life, Fujitsu says. Accordingly, the standard 6-cell battery (4,800 mAh) is said to deliver up to six hours of operation, and a high-capacity 9-cell battery (7,200 mAh) option provides up to nine hours operation.
